A man in Agra allegedly orchestrated the rape of his wife by his friend, recorded the assault, and used the video to demand ₹2 lakh. The accused husband and his accomplice were arrested after the victim filed a police complaint.
Husband’s Threats and Demands
The victim, a laborer from Sita Nagar, revealed her husband visited sporadically. In September, he brought a friend home for dinner. Later, he demanded ₹5,000, which she gave. Days later, he called, demanding ₹2 lakh, threatening to release a video showing the assault. When questioned, he showed her the footage, revealing the horrific crime.
Police Action and Statement
ACP Hemant Kumar confirmed the victim’s claims: “The husband intoxicated his wife, facilitated her assault, and filmed it. He then demanded ₹2 lakh and sent the video to her phone, threatening to make it viral.” A case under relevant sections has been registered, and both accused are in custody.
Victim’s Complaint
The woman approached the Etmaddaula police, reporting her husband’s actions. She stated she had pleaded with him not to release the video, but he remained adamant.
