More than 15,000 years ago, well before the existence of organized regions and religions, Adiyogi, located in Tamil Nadu at the Isha Yoga complex, or the first yogi, transmitted the science of yoga to his seven known disciples of life, the Saptarishis. He transmitted 112 various ways in which human beings can surpass their constraints and reach their finest goal of life. The teachings of Adiyogi were not rituals but transformations of the self, with the fundamental message that authentic well-being and liberation are available only by looking inward: "In is the only way out."
On Mahashivaratri, 24th February 2017, the majestic face of "Adiyogi—the Source of Yoga" was inaugurated at the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The statue is 112 feet in height, representing the 112 paths he provided for human development and inner awakening. It has been certified by the Guinness World Records as the world's largest bust sculpture.

Near the statue is the Yogeshwar Linga, which was constructed by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev. This Linga is described as containing five major chakras of a human life, or energy centers, of the human system. With its existence, the Adiyogi statue is not merely a monument but a living presence.
The Yogeshwar Linga is a balance between devotion, peace, culture, and discipline of life. It facilitates spiritual practice that enables seekers to transcend beyond the confines of the senses, so they are able to attain higher states of consciousness.
