Actor Inam-ul-Haq, who recently starred in a hit music video with Radhika Yadav, has addressed the controversy, stating he was not close to her except for their line of work. Radhika Yadav, a retired tennis player, was reportedly shot dead by her dad Deepak Yadav at their residence in Gurugram.
Talking to ANI from Dubai, Inam revealed that he initially encountered Radhika at the Tennis Premier League in Dubai and then worked with her on a music video. He noted that the video is on YouTube, hence it is still being talked about.
“I first encountered her (Radhika) in the Tennis Premier League, which was organised in Dubai. Then I encountered her in a music video. She was an actress to me. I have worked with many actresses. She came only for the shoot of the music video, and then she left. We simply gave her a good luck amount. The shoot of the video was unpaid. Then we never got in touch with her,” Inam-ul-Haq said.

The actor was also worried that the case was being provided a collective narrative. “I don’t know why it’s being done. I don’t have to do anything in this case. Radhika does not have any social media. There is merely a video clip on YouTube, that’s why it is being repeated so much.”
Gurugram’s Shocking Murder
Meanwhile, new information has emerged about the attack. According to the police, 25-year-old Radhika was cooking a meal for her mother, Manju Yadav, whose birthday it was, when her father is said to have shot her from behind within their three-storey home in Gurugram’s Sushant Lok area. An autopsy later confirmed that she had been shot four times in the back.
Father Confesses to Murder
Deepak Yadav admitted murdering his daughter, explaining to police that social ridicule and wounded pride propelled him to the act. “When I would go to Wazirabad village to bring milk, people used to ridicule me by saying that I survived on my daughter’s income. Some people even doubted my daughter’s character. I instructed my daughter to shut down her tennis academy, but she did not listen. This incident continued to disturb me as it injured my pride,” he informed the officers.
He went on, “Due to this tension, I pulled out my licensed revolver, and while my daughter Radhika was in the kitchen cooking, I shot her from behind at her waist. I have murdered my daughter.”
Investigation into Caste, Family Pressure
Police brought Deepak to court on Friday, which accepted a one-day remand for further interrogation. Authorities mentioned that they are investigating multiple lines in order to confirm the accuracy of his confession.
In Wazirabad, one of their neighbours disclosed that Deepak had been annoyed at Radhika’s decision to marry outside their caste. “Radhika was desirous of marrying somebody from outside her caste, but her father had insisted on the wedding within the same caste. He was old-fashioned and traditional,” the neighbour said to Hindustan Times in anonymity.
Gurugram police spokesperson Sandeep Kumar mentioned that no other motive other than the alleged taunts and Deepak’s request to shut down the tennis academy had been revealed yet. “No other motive aside from Deepak’s choice requesting his daughter to shut down the academy following taunts by villagers has appeared. We are continuing to question him to support multiple more things,” Kumar added.
He also mentioned that they are investigating whether Radhika’s mother was privy to any knowledge of the plot beforehand. “He hasn’t given a proper explanation yet, nor has he confirmed if his wife knew about the plan but it seems she might have known something,” Kumar said.
