Abhishek Banerjee, National General Secretary of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), who embarked on the two-month TMC mega event ‘Jan Sanjog Yatra’ on April 25 completed 2000 km in 17 days on Thursday at the TMC Bhawan in Kolkata district of West Bengal.
The Trinamool Congress mega event known as the ‘Jan Sanjog Yatra’ was led by TMC national general secretary and MP Abhishek Banerjee and lasted only a few days. Sayoni Ghosh, President of the Trinamool Youth Congress, congratulated Abhishek Banerjee on his success and chastised the opposition party for mocking the Jan Sanjog Yatra.
Speaking about the mega event, the TMC President stated that Thursday was a huge accomplishment for the TMC and Abhishek Banerjee, who had led the ‘Jan Sanjog Yatra’ caravan since it began on April 25, 2023, and had done so for 60 days.
“Today is the 17th day and Abhishek completed 2000 km without rest. It’s a continuous process. During this event, Abhishek Banerjee organized at least 50 mass gatherings, 35 special events and 12 roads,” she said.
Sayoni added, “This is my personal view that Rahul Gandhi organized the Bharat jodo yatra about his own fame and branding but Abhishek organized Jan Sanjog Yatra to build his party more powerful. He never said that he is a big leader, he always said he is a learner in politics.”
