AAP’s manifesto released by Delhi CM Kejriwal for MCD polls

Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi CM and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s national convener on Friday released the party’s manifesto for the upcoming Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections and promised on fulfilling 10 ‘guarantees’.

“We will work to fulfill 10 guarantees. We will clean the streets of Delhi and solve the issue of Garbage Mountains, and beautification of parks will be done,” said Delhi CM. He further promised of making MCD corruption free and to solve vehicle-parking problems as part of his manifesto for the MCD polls. He assured to pay the MCD workers on time.

On November 9, CM Kejriwal presided over a meeting in the national capital with senior officials. Prior to that, AAP MLAs participated in an important meeting led by the deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia and the party’s state convenor and minister Gopal Rai, where they were given tasks at various levels to do in order to get ready for civic body elections in all 250 MCD seats.

The AAP has also started the “Kude Par Jansamvad” campaign as part of its civic body election preparations, in which AAP representatives would listen to people’s garbage problems and discuss their solutions through Jansamvad.

The party intends to host a public discussion in each of Delhi’s 13682 booths by November 20. About 500 people will attend the party, it has been decided.

All AAP office holders have been ordered to travel to all neighbourhoods in Delhi, speak with residents, and attempt to comprehend their problems.

Elections for 250 MCD seats in Delhi’s civic bodies will take place on December 4 as announced by the Election Commission. The election nomination process has also begun.

The deadline for nominations is November 14, and the forms will be reviewed on November 16. November 19 is the final day for withdrawing nominations.
