On Monday, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) released a new campaign song, “Phir Kejriwal nu chun lo,” coinciding with the Lohri festival, showcasing the party chief as the “son of Delhi.”

Lohri, celebrated annually, marks the end of winter, the beginning of longer days, and the harvest of crops like wheat and mustard.

The 1.33-minute song highlights the AAP government’s achievements in health and education sectors. Titled “Kejriwal nu chun lo (Choose Kejriwal again),” the song is aimed at winning over the Punjabi community in Delhi ahead of the Assembly elections. It emphasizes welfare initiatives such as free water and electricity for Delhi’s residents.

“Iss vaari sun lo, phir Kejriwal nu chun lo (Listen this time, elect Kejriwal again),” the song’s lyrics in Punjabi state.

The Punjabi community plays a crucial role in Delhi’s electorate, with its votes significantly influencing the outcome in 25-28 Assembly constituencies. Key constituencies with a high Punjabi population include Punjabi Bagh, Tilak Nagar, Janak Puri, Vikas Puri, Karol Bagh, Patel Nagar, Old Rajinder Nagar, New Rajinder Nagar, Moti Nagar, Rajauri Garden, Narayana, Maya Puri, Hari Nagar, Subhash Nagar, Maharani Bagh, Lajpat Nagar, Malviya Nagar, Kalkaji, and Shahdara. Notably, constituencies like Rajouri Garden, Hari Nagar, Kalkaji, and Shahdara have a substantial Sikh voter base.

Voting for the 70 Assembly seats in Delhi will take place on February 5, with results to be announced on February 8 after the vote counting.
