The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has kicked off its election campaign with a clarion call for solidarity behind its chief, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Amidst the controversy surrounding Kejriwal’s alleged jail time linked to a liquor scam, the party’s campaign slogan, ‘Answer to Jail through Vote’, resonates with a promise of vindication through democratic means.
At the campaign launch , AAP leaders, including Gopal Rai, Sandeep Pathak, and Sanjay Singh, appealed the voters of Delhi to remember the waived electricity bills, the establishment of quality schools, and the health services provided by Mohalla Clinics—all hallmarks of Kejriwal’s tenure.
Sandeep Pathak, the party secretary, highlighted Kejriwal’s efforts in treating Delhi’s residents as family, focusing on education, healthcare, and improved water supply. The party also emphasised the free bus travel initiative for women, framing it as a testament to Kejriwal’s service to the city.
