Maharashtrian students stranded in the conflict in Manipur will arrive in Mumbai in the evening by a chartered flight.
According to the office of the Maharashtra Chief Minister, the flight will depart from Guwahati for Mumbai at roughly 4:30 p.m. The jet is scheduled to land in Mumbai at 6.30 p.m.
Imphal, the capital of Manipur, is where the students are travelling from to catch their aircraft to Guwahati.
Maharashtra’s chief minister, Eknath Shinde, spoke with the state’s students who are stranded in Manipur. The video of Shinde speaking with the students was made public by the Shiv Sena.
According to the party, “the students thanked the Chief Minister for helping them so quickly and said that we are all safe.” Air India has extended a complete a full fee waiver on ticket cancellation or rescheduling till Monday for all flights to or from Manipur.
The choice was made in light of the circumstances in the state in the northeast. The airline started to offer the concession on May 4. Plans are being developed by a number of state governments to remove their citizens from the violent Manipur.
Following ethnic riots, internet service in Manipur is still suspended. Curfew restrictions have been loosening up a bit since Sunday so that people can shop for necessities in the regions hit by the violence.
