Patna (Bihar) [India], July 10 (ANI): In a significant move aimed at enhancing social welfare, Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary announced that the state government has streamlined the disbursement of social security pensions, ensuring direct bank transfers by the 10th of every month.

In a post on X, Chief Minister Choudhary stated that a massive corpus of ₹1,423.94 crore will be distributed to a total of 97.84 lakh beneficiaries across the state. The funds combine financial outlays from both central and state government pension schemes.

“The Bihar government has ensured the payment of Rs 1,100 under the social security pension scheme on the 10th of every month through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer),” the Chief Minister tweeted.

Highlighting the scope and impact of the welfare initiative, the Bihar CM added, “Under the pension schemes of the central and state governments, a total of 97.84 lakh beneficiaries will be transferred a pension amount of Rs 1,423.94 crores. This initiative is a significant step towards providing financial security and dignity to senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and widowed women.”

Earlier on July 2, Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary inaugurated the extension of Patna Metro services to Malahipakdi, nearly doubling the operational length of the city’s first metro corridor.

Following the inauguration, Chief Minister Choudhary also travelled on the Patna Metro.

With the extension, metro services will now operate between ISBT and Malahipakdi, expanding the reach of the city’s operational metro corridor. (ANI)
