While addressing the nation on the special occasion of India’s 79th Independence Day, PM Modi announced a National Deep Water Exploration Mission aimed at utilising India’s offshore oil and gas reserves.
In his Independence Day speech, PM Modi talked about a lot of plans aimed at developing India. Part of this is the newly announced Deep Water Exploration Mission, which the PM referred to as “Samudra Manthan.”
“We are now also heading towards 'Samudra Manthan'. Taking this forward, we want to work in Mission Mode to look for the oil and gas reserves in the sea. So, India is about to launch National Deep Water Exploration Mission,” PM Modi said in his Independence Day speech.
In his Independence Day speech, PM Modi said that the Deep Water Exploration Mission will make use of advanced deep-sea drilling and exploration technology to strengthen India’s energy reserves by utilising offshore oil and gas reserves.
The mission is expected to focus on deepwater blocks in the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea. It will also see the utilisation of both public and private sector companies to achieve the goal and make India more self-reliant in terms of energy.
India is celebrating its 79th Independence Day at the Red Fort with PM Modi addressing the nation in his annual speech. The celebrations started with his post on X, greeting the nation before arriving at the Red Fort for the special ceremony.
