51 Soldiers Martyred In Jammu And Kashmir Over Three Years

In the past three years, the relentless efforts of our brave security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have been marked by significant sacrifices, with 51 soldiers martyred in various terrorist attacks. This tragic loss underscores the ongoing challenges faced by our defense personnel in maintaining peace and security in the region.

Casualties in 2024:

In the first seven months of this year alone, 10 soldiers, a Village Defense Guard, and a CRPF personnel have been martyred. These incidents highlight the ongoing threat posed by terrorists and the tremendous bravery of our forces.

January 12: Terrorists attacked a convoy in the Krishna Ghati Sector of Poonch. While all soldiers escaped unhurt, an army soldier was martyred performing an operational task in Baramulla district.

January 18: Agniveer Ajay Singh was martyred, and two others were injured in an IED blast in the Nowshera Sector of Rajouri district.

April 24: Two soldiers were injured during an encounter in the Ranji Forest of Aramgam Bandipora.

April 28: A Village Defence Guard was martyred in an exchange of fire in the Basantgarh area of Udhampur district.

May 4: In the Sanai Top area of Poonch district, a soldier was martyred, and four others were injured in a fierce encounter.

June 11: A CRPF personnel was martyred in Saida Sukhal village, Hiranagar Kathua. On the same day, five soldiers and one SPO were injured in the Chatergala area of Doda district during an attack on a joint checkpost.

June 12: A police officer was injured in an encounter in Kota Top, Dandoh Doda.

July 6: A soldier was martyred in an encounter in Chinnigam Kulgam, and a Para-Commando was killed in Modergam Kulgam during an operation.

July 7: A soldier was critically injured in an attack on the headquarters of a Territorial Army battalion in Galuti Patrara village, Manjakote Rajouri.

July 8: Five soldiers, including a JCO, were martyred, and five others were injured in a militant attack in the Badnota area of Kathua district.

Previous Years’ Sacrifices:

In 2023, 29 soldiers, four policemen, and a BSF personnel were martyred. The previous year, 12 soldiers were killed, alongside 21 local terrorists, 52 infiltrators, four policemen, 14 civilians, and a BSF personnel.

Despite the grave risks, our soldiers continue to demonstrate extraordinary courage and dedication. Their commitment ensures the safety and security of the region, standing as a bulwark against terrorism.

The sacrifices made by these brave men and women are a poignant reminder of the high cost of maintaining peace and security. Their unwavering resolve and bravery are a testament to their duty and patriotism, inspiring the nation and honoring their memory. The nation stands united in saluting the valor and sacrifice of our soldiers, reaffirming our support for the defense forces who tirelessly work to protect us.
