In Patna, over 15,000 girls tied Rakhi to Khan Sir, celebrating with food, jokes, and discounts, highlighting his bond with students despite having no biological sisters.
Patna witnessed a touching Rakshabandhan celebration this year, organized by popular educator Khan Sir. More than 15,000 girls tied Rakhi to their beloved teacher, a remarkable increase from previous years.
Due to the large turnout, the event was moved to Sri Krishna Memorial Hall for the first time, instead of Khan Sir’s usual coaching centre venue.
Khan Sir, known for his care towards students, prepared a festive spread with 156 varieties of food. The celebration began at 10 am and lasted till 1:30 pm, with Khan Sir seated on stage as long queues of girls waited to tie 'Rakhis'.

At one point, his hands became so full of 'Rakhis' that they went numb. Laughing through the moment, he joked on the microphone, “Call a doctor, the blood has stopped flowing.” The ceremony, however, continued without pause.
Many girls expressed admiration for their teacher. “Khan Sir is not just the best teacher but also like a brother. We feel safest in his classroom anywhere in Patna. Teaching us at such a low fee is a great gift,” they told Local 18.
Some also mentioned receiving big discounts on certain courses for Rakshabandhan, calling it a thoughtful gift.

During the event, some girls called out, “Sir, where is Bhabhi? Why didn’t you bring her?” Smiling, Khan Sir replied, “Today is the festival of sisters, not Bhabhi. Today is only for my sisters.”
Interestingly, Khan Sir has no biological sisters, but considers all his female students as such. He has celebrated Rakshabandhan with them since the beginning of his teaching journey.
Over the years, Khan sir's Raksha Bandhan celebration has grown to a large scale. He now receives thousands of 'Rakhis' each year.
