Former world number one shooter Heena Sidhu has taken a swipe at political parties who previously raised concerns about the reliability of electronic voting machines (EVMs) during the ongoing 2024 Lok Sabha vote counting. Sidhu’s remarks come amid the backdrop of the election process, where the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is currently leading on 290 seats out of 543, while the INDIA bloc is ahead on 234 seats.

Heena Sidhu expressed her skepticism towards the absence of discussions on the EVM issue this time around through a post on her social media handle ‘X.’ In the post, she humorously questioned whether the electronic voting machine problem would remain unaddressed this election cycle. She further remarked on the resilience of Indian democracy, seemingly indicating that despite any potential flaws or controversies, the democratic process continues to endure.

The shooter’s social media post resonated with a tone of satire, as she commented on the strength of Indian democracy amidst the ongoing electoral proceedings. This sentiment was conveyed in her post, which humorously juxtaposed the lack of discussion on the EVM issue with the overall perception of a robust democratic system.

Sidhu’s commentary reflects a broader societal dialogue surrounding electoral integrity and the role of technology in democratic processes. As the Lok Sabha vote counting progresses, her remarks add an element of humor and critique to the ongoing political discourse.
