The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Secretary (West), Sanjay Verma, co-chaired the 10th India-Armenia Foreign Office Consultations in New Delhi, according to an MEA press statement on Saturday. The meeting, attended by the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, Mnatsakan Safaryan, covered a wide range of topics, including political, trade and economic, consular, cultural, and people-to-people ties. Key areas of discussion included energy, agriculture, connectivity, and capacity building.
Both delegations also exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest, with a particular focus on cooperation in multilateral forums. India expressed appreciation for Armenia’s participation in the Voice of the Global South Summit. The MEA announced that the next India-Armenia consultation would be hosted in Armenia.
According to the Ministry, the next India-Armenia match will be held in Armenia.
Bilateral conversation between India and Armenia is carried out through the Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) and the Inter-Governmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technological, Cultural, and Educational Cooperation (IGC) mechanisms.
On April 1, 2016, Yerevan hosted the 7th IGC and the 8th FOC. On February 18, 2022, the ninth round of FOC was held virtually. According to the Ministry, the 8th session of the India-Armenia IGC was held in Yerevan on July 4, 2022.
