In the ongoing India vs Bangladesh 1st test, on day two, India reduced Bangladesh at 133/8 as it was chasing India’s score of 404. The host team found itself in a big trouble in the final session of day 2. A 31 run partnership between Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Ebadot Hossain gave Bangladesh some hope which soon fainted as the Indian bowlers delivered their outstanding performance. Nurul Hasan played a few confident shots and headed Bangladesh to a score of 79/5. Kuldeep Yadav took four wickets of the middle-order and Mohammad Siraj knocked out the top-order which made Bangladesh’s survival difficult. India opted for a DRS review for a LBW against Nurul Hasan in the final delivery which resulted in a decision that no bat was involved. However India maintained the pressure as Siraj and Ashwin gave three runs in two overs. Kuldeep Yadav emerged as the star of the match with figures of 4/33 and the 40 off 114 that he scored during the Indian innings.In the first innings India piled 404 runs. On the second day, they started with their first day score of 278/6.
KL Rahull is the captain of the Indian team while Bangladesh is headed by Shakib Al Hasan in the first test. India holds second position on the ICC Men’s test rankings while Bangladesh is placed on the 9th rank. The first test match between India and Bangladesh will be played from 14-18 Decemeber.
