UP: Posters in Lucknow portraying Akhilesh Yadav as “future PM”

Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party (SP), was portrayed as the “future Prime Minister” in a number of posters that were displayed outside the Lucknow headquarters of the party.
The Samajwadi Party workers celebrate Akhilesh Yadav’s birthday on several occasions to show their love and devotion for their leader. His birthday is on July 1. His birthday is being celebrated today by certain party officials and supporters, according to SP spokesperson Fakhrul Hasan Chaand, who was speaking to ANI in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
“Party workers are praying that Akhilesh Yadav becomes the PM of the country and serves the people…” he said.

The INDIA bloc has SP, Akhilesh Yadav’s party, as an ally. The Bharatiya Janata Party will be challenged by the INDIA bloc, an alliance of 28 political parties, in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. However, the alliance hasn’t revealed the candidate’s face for prime minister.
Danish Azad Ansari, a BJP leader and minister in the UP government, responded to the posters by saying that nothing can prevent someone from daydreaming.

Meanwhile, tensions have arisen within the INDIA alliance with Uttar Pradesh Congress unit Chief Ajay Rai asking the former to withdraw from MP in favour of the grand old party as the Akhilesh Yadav-led party, he said, did not have any base there.

In response to it, the SP chief alleged that some “Congress leaders are siding with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)”, adding that he would not have trusted the grand old party if he had known that “Congress would betray them”.
He further said he was unaware of the fact that the INDIA bloc has been formed at the national level to defeat the BJP and the alliance partners are not fighting together at the state level.
