Cow vigilantes allegedly killed a man and assaulted two of his associates in Karnataka’s Ramanagara district, 20 km away from Bengaluru, on Saturday.

The accused, Puneet Kerehalli, stopped cattle trader Idris Pasha while he was transporting cattle. Idris provided papers from the cattle market, but Puneet demanded Rs 2 lakh and started beating him when he refused to pay the amount.

However, Idris’ dead body was discovered at the Sathnur Village in the Ramanagara district of Karnataka.

The police have booked Puneet Kerehalli, considered a leader of a “cow protection force,” and four others in connection with this case.
