Chandrayaan-3: ISRO shares new images 2 days before Moon landing

Two days before the touchdown, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) published images of the Vikram lander selecting the landing spot.

“Here are the images of Lunar far side area captured by the Lander Hazard Detection and Avoidance Camera (LHDAC). This camera that assists in locating a safe landing area — without boulders or deep trenches — during the descent,” the ISRO wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The Chandrayaan 3 spacecraft is scheduled to descend on the moon’s south pole on August 23 at 6:04 p.m. (Indian time). The mission’s second and final deboosting operation was completed successfully on Sunday morning.
