BJP fields three Union ministers for MP battle

After Prime Minister Narendra Modi finished his political engagements in Madhya Pradesh, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released a second list of 39 candidates, with three Union ministers—Narendra Singh Tomar, Prahlad Patel, and Faggan Singh Kulaste—standing as candidates for the upcoming state elections in Madhya Pradesh. In addition, the party has asked four of its MPs—Rakesh Singh, Uday Pratap Singh, Ganesh Singh and Riti Pathak—to contest the state polls. This exercise has been done keeping in mind the anti-incumbency factor for the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government.
Congress PCC chief and ex-CM Kamal Nath, while reacting to the list, said that it is just a desperate move and the BJP is going to lose the elections. One more name being discussed in politics of Madhya Pradesh is that of Cabinet Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. Elections in five states are due this year which will directly set the tone for the 2024 general elections.
