IQAC organises workshop on effective communication

Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Indira Gandhi University (IGU), a state university of Haryana, recently organised a workshop on effective communication. The workshop was led by Prof Romika Batra, director of IQAC, at IGU. The participants discussed how communication skills often make the crucial difference between excellence and mediocrity and how the role of effective communication has assumed all the more importance during the ongoing tough times for bridging barriers to communication. Speaking as chief guest Prof S.K. Gakhar, vice chancellor, IGU said, “In the modern-day world, the need for effective communication has increased manifold when one is required to transmit quickly and clearly all sorts of information and knowledge.” The workshop had over 150 participants from several states

RSDC to skill 30k migrant workers for rubber sector

Rubber Skill Development Council (RSDC) has decided to skill and reskill more than 30,000 migrant labourers who lost employment during the lockdown and are in search of employment in their hometown. The targeted beneficiaries will be motivated to start their own enterprises in tyre services and rubber processing related enterprises after the completion of their training, says Vinod Simon, chairman, RSDC. With workforce having migrated from states with large rubber clusters, RSDC is gearing up to train local populace in required job roles so that the rubber manufacturing plants could run smoothly.
