Nargol, in Umargam taluka of Valsad district, has seen the completion of the world’s largest coastal forest using the Japanese Miyawaki method. More than 1 lakh 25 thousand trees have been planted here in just 27 days. Environmentalists, as well as tourists, are seeing a huge attraction as a new feather is added to the entire beach lineage, which completes the beautiful forest construction work using the Miyawaki method.
To make this work a success, the founder of Enviro and Forest Creator Foundation Mumbai, Deepan Jain, and co-founder Dr. R.K. Nair have worked hard. Dr. Nair, who has created more than 58 forests in his life. The project, which was built under his leadership at Nargol village when Nair became popularly known as “GREEN HERO OF INDIA”, is set to be a new treat for tourists visiting the country and abroad. The Malvan Beach in Nargol village is home to many species of exotic birds every year. With the formation of this forest, the chirping of hundreds of species of birds can be heard at Malvan Beach.
Adjacent to Malvan Beach in Nargol village, this forest will be a center of attraction for exotic birds as well as tourists. This place has already proved to be a place of choice for exotic birds. The number of exotic birds will double.
The Miyawaki Forest was discovered 40 years ago by Japanese botanist Akira Miyawaki. So that it is known as Miyawaki Forest. Shrubs are planted very close to the forest formed by this method. The plants planted in this method grow very fast. Normal trees grow in 300 years but they grow just in 30 to 35 years using this method. A total of 60 types of trees are being planted in this forest along with various trees of medicine.
