Addressing a One Day Convention in Ratnu Chak, Jammu, Apni Party President Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari expressed disappointment with the present government in Jammu and Kashmir. He accused the imported government of failing to deliver on its promises, leading to the suffering of the people in Jammu.
Altaf Bukhari paid tribute to the victims of the 26/11 attacks during the convention, emphasizing the importance of unity and resilience. Prominent businessman Vishal Narania, along with his supporters, joined the Apni Party during the event, adding strength to the party in Jammu.
Criticizing the BJP for its unfulfilled promises after the abrogation of special status, Bukhari highlighted the lack of development and resources being exploited by outsiders. He noted that the BJP had assured vast development and employment opportunities after the abrogation, which had not materialized. He cited underdevelopment, disappointment among the people, and the influx of outsiders grabbing resources and trades in Jammu.
Bukhari pointed out the active involvement of liquor and contractor mafias, supported by government officials. He accused the imported officials of having no connection with the local population and fostering actions that are anti-people.
The Apni Party President emphasized the need to restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir and hold Assembly Elections promptly. He criticized the government for sidelining Jammu Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) and Jammu Kashmir Police Service (JKPS) officers, advocating the recruitment of local officers who understand and can address public issues effectively.
Bukhari assured that if the Apni Party comes to power, it will recruit 6,000 doctors, fill vacant posts in schools and colleges, and provide necessary infrastructure within a stipulated time frame. He criticized the government for failing to address issues of underdevelopment and unemployment in Jammu. Expressing concern over the security situation in Rajouri-Poonch, Bukhari appreciated the local population’s bravery along the International Border and Line of Control. He assured people that the Apni Party would not allow any land to be snatched, opposing anti-encroachment drives that aim to displace residents.
The Apni Party Senior Vice President, Ghulam Hassan Mir, echoed the demand for the restoration of statehood and Assembly Elections. He questioned the authorities for inaction against the mining mafia and criticized the increased electricity tariff and power cuts in Jammu.
The Apni Party Vice President, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali, highlighted the circumstances that led to the formation of the Apni Party and criticized the delay in holding Panchayati Raj and Urban Local Body elections. He emphasized the importance of elections for addressing development and employment issues.
