The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for heavy rainfall across multiple states including Karnataka, Assam, Meghalaya, Goa, Kerala, West Bengal, and Sikkim, set for Tuesday, June 10. The alert warns residents and authorities of the potential for significant weather disruptions.

The IMD’s weather report indicates a broad area of influence, stating, “Fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim during the next 7 days.”
