The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather forecast predicting light snowfall and rainfall in Jammu and Kashmir, as a result of an approaching western disturbance situated at 55 degrees. Simultaneously, central India is gearing up for thunderstorms and hailstorms until November 26-27, all influenced by the imminent western disturbance.
The forecast sheds light on the significance of western disturbances, extratropical storms originating from the Mediterranean or Caspian Sea. These disturbances play a pivotal role in bringing non-monsoonal rainfall to northwest India, introducing sudden winter rain in the northwestern parts of the Indian subcontinent, often accompanied by snow and fog.
As the calendar advances to November 24-25, indications suggest the gathering of dark clouds over Northwest India, signaling a dynamic and potentially impactful weather scenario in the region.
Residents and authorities are urged to stay updated on the evolving weather conditions and take necessary precautions as the western disturbance unfolds its effects over the coming days.
