Enormous images of Israeli detainees, including children and elderly men and women, were projected on the exterior of the UN building in New York, demanding the release of Gaza hostages. Images of detainees projected at the UN headquarters by a group of Israelis living in the United States included Ariel, 4, and Yaffa, 85.
The Command Centre in the United States for the Families of Hostages demanded the release of all hostages, noting that their detention violated international law.
It advocated the rapid establishment of a humanitarian corridor to distribute medicine and other necessities. Furthermore, the Command Centre requested the intervention of world leaders, notably those from the Arab World.
“The world must know,” shouted demonstrators at the Command Centre in New York. The world needs to wake up. We will not stop until our viciously and murderously stolen siblings and sisters are returned to their families.”
Previously on Thursday, people demonstrated in Tel Aviv, urging the Israeli government to exchange hostages/prisoners with the terrorist organisation Hamas. The marchers have urged Israel to negotiate with Hamas and release the women and children who are being held captive. They used posters and shouted slogans to make their desires known.
“The government of Israel should talk to Hamas to ensure that the women, children, and civilians who have been taken hostage are released,” a local protesting in Tel Aviv amid Hamas’ onslaught on Israel told ANI. Another local protester stated that the government should go to any length to ensure the release of the kidnapped hostages.
