In an operation named ‘Aakarman’ the district police apprehended 20 people, including an illegal hookah bar operator. Deputy Commissioner of Police Sumer Pratap Singh provided details, mentioning that, under the guidance of Director General of Haryana Police Shaturijit Kapoor Singh, a comprehensive operation was initiated across all districts to arrest individuals involved in various cases. The operation took place from 5 am to 11 am, deploying 37 police teams to raid different locations in the district.
During Operation Attack, the teams successfully arrested 20 individuals implicated in various cases. Specifically, actions were taken against gambling activities at 13 different places, resulting in 13 cases being registered and 13 individuals being apprehended.
Furthermore, three individuals were arrested for smuggling illegal liquor. Additionally, one person with pending warrants and an operator managing an unauthorized hookah bar were also taken into custody.
While conducting a raid at Mob Club Bar as part of Operation Attack, the police incidentally discovered four hookahs, leading to a case being filed against the operator under Section 144. The accused operator, Vikram Vasi of Sector 44-A, Chandigarh, was subsequently arrested under Sections 188/269/270.
