As the search for the terrorists behind the Poonch ambush goes on, the Indian Air Force mourns the loss of Corporal Vikky Pahade, who succumbed to the injuries sustained in the attack on Saturday evening.
On Twitter (now known as X), Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari paid tribute to the corporal, expressing condolences for the valiant soldier who lost his life in the ambush of the convoy in Poonch.
“The CAS Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari and all personnel of (the) Indian Air Force salute the braveheart Corporal Vikky Pahade, who made the supreme sacrifice in (the) Poonch Sector, in the service of the nation. Our deepest condolences to the bereaved family. We stand firmly by your side in this hour of grief.”- posted by official IAF’s handle.
Earlier on May 4, a group of terrorists carried out the ambush of Indian Air force’s convoy in J &k’s Poonch, which left five personnels injured including Pahade, who unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
As revealed by local residents to IANS, this 33-year-old corporal made a visit to his family for his sister’s wedding last month and then returned to his unit on April 18.
The corporal is survived by his wife, 5-year-old son, mother and his three sisters. And he joined the IAF in 2011. He was also supposed to visit his village Nonia-Karbal (MP’s Chindwara District) for his son’s birthday for three days.
Meanwhile, the security forces have launched a massive manhunt after the terrorist’s attack on the convoy. And have also laid down nakas and currently, checking is being carried out in the area.
In addition, the local Rastriya Rifles unit-initiated cordon and search operation in the city with army and police to track those responsible.
IAF too has confirmed through the tweet, that the probe regarding this incident is underway.
