JAIPUR: There was a commotion inside and outside the assembly on Monday over the statement of MLA Bal Mukund Acharya regarding the hijab. After the commotion, outside the assembly, MLA Bal Mukund Acharya said, “Schools have a dress code. My speech can be seen. I did not say anything to the girls in school. I only asked the school principal if there are two types of dress codes in school. They said no, there isn’t.” Balmukund said, “I saw two types of atmospheres in the school. One with hijab and the other without hijab. In this way, our children will come tomorrow wearing lehenga-chunni, colourful dresses. When the school dress code is determined, the girls have no objection to it. They just need guidance.” MLA Bal Mukund Acharya said that his question is valid. He added, “The school has a dress code. There are rules and regulations there. One should come to school according to the dress code in school. They even have objections to chanting Saraswati’s shlokas. What is this all about? There are equal rules for everyone in the school.”
Meanwhile, on the question of forcibly chanting Jai Shri Ram slogans, MLA Bal Mukund Acharya said, “I did not chant any slogans like that. I had said to chant ‘Jai Bharat Mata’. I explained to them that India is our country. The earth is our mother. This is also the mother of our mother. Is it wrong to say ‘Jai Bharat Mata’?”
