In Hyderabad, Telangana, the van driver of a private company that loads cash into ATMs fled with the truck containing the money and two firearms. On Thursday night, the incident happened in NIRD Square, which is within Rajendranagar Police Station’s jurisdiction.
The individual, known as Farook, arrived in a car with security men in order to deposit the money at an ATM in Rajendra Nagar, but instead of doing so, he took off in the car.
Later, the vehicle was found by Rajendranagar police at the Kismatpur Bridge in the Ranga Reddy district with Rs 3 lakhs missing from the total money inside. The driver is accused of fleeing with two firearms and money.
“On Thursday night at around 6.30 p.m. in front of the Canara Bank ATM, Farook, the driver of a private agency fled with a car containing cash worth 31,99,000.,” said Pavan Kumar, detective inspector of police, Rajendranagar. He abandoned the car near the Kismatpur Bridge with Rs 3 lakhs in cash gone. According to Section 381 of the IPC, a case has been filed. He has an air rifle and a 12-bore gun with him as he flees.
Further investigations are underway.
