Kerala university submitted an affidavit to the High court stating “hostels are not tourist homes” for the night and students must stay and avoid going out at night. This came after the plea filed by girl students of Government Medical College Kozhikode against the notification issued by the Higher Education Department barring female students from going out of the Hostel after 9.30 pm. The University further said, “People reach maturity at the age of 25. Anything said before that is not acceptable,” in the affidavit.
