Congratulating India’s ace javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra on winning the country’s first gold medal at the prestigious World Athletics Championships, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said on Monday that it was a source of joy and that he hoped the youth will take inspiration from him.
“It is a matter of joy that India is playing the role of a Champion in several areas and going ahead. In this continuation, Neeraj Chopra, the best athlete of Haryana, won a Gold medal at World Athletics Championship 2023,” Khattar said.
“He is the first athlete of India to achieve this feat. I congratulate Neeraj Chopra, his coaches, his family and other sportspersons. I hope the youth will take inspiration from him…” he added.

Neeraj, India’s golden boy for the 2020 Summer Olympics, made history again on Monday in Budapest, defeating Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem to claim the country’s first-ever gold medal in the World Athletics Championships.
