Sony Pictures has officially revealed the title for the highly anticipated fourth part of the Spider-Man franchise. The film will be titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day and is set for release on July 31, 2026.

Director Cretton Excited for the Movie

The announcement was made at CinemaCon on Monday, where director Destin Daniel Cretton took the stage. Cretton, who previously directed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, shared his excitement for the project. He explained that he has always been a fan of Spider-Man, especially drawn to Peter Parker’s “humor” and “messy humanity.”

Tom Holland Promises a ‘Fresh Start’

Later, Tom Holland appeared in a video segment to express his gratitude to fans. He teased that Spider-Man: Brand New Day would be “a fresh start.” In line with this, Cretton added that the movie would be “a ride that we haven’t really seen before,” offering fans something entirely new and exciting.

Comic Inspiration and Connection to ‘No Way Home’

The title Spider-Man: Brand New Day is inspired by a 2008 comic book storyline, where an event causes everyone to forget Spider-Man’s identity. This concept ties directly to the ending of Spider-Man: No Way Home, in which Peter Parker’s identity is erased from everyone’s memory. Therefore, the new film will continue this plot development.

Writers and Collaboration with Marvel

Moreover, the film will be written by Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna, who previously worked on Spider-Man: No Way Home. Additionally, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is part of Sony’s ongoing partnership with Disney, allowing Spider-Man to remain a key figure within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
