Rapper Kanye West, better known by his stage name Ye, has been charged with meddling in the affair between comedian Pete Davidson and his ex-wife Kim Kardashian. According to a report from InTouch Weekly, Pete reportedly ended his relationship with Kim due to fears for his safety, citing Kanye’s relentless harassment and threats as the reason.
Pete Davidson and Kim Kardashian’s Romance
Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson started dating in November 2021 but broke up in August 2022. A source, however, said that the connection between them was deep: “They were deeply in love. Pete didn’t walk away because of a lack of feelings—he simply couldn’t endure the constant pressure and public drama surrounding their relationship.”
The tension was mainly due to Kanye’s public assaults, which involved both verbal jabs and threats of physical harm. At the time, Kanye and Kim were in the process of a highly publicized divorce, and Kanye frequently expressed his disdain for Pete. His 2022 song Eazy contained a line that threatened Pete and featured a claymation video that depicted Pete’s character being kidnapped and buried.
Kanye’s Involvement in the Breakup
According to the InTouch Weekly insider, Kanye’s behaviour was not by accident. “He absolutely sabotaged the relationship, and it worked,” they revealed. According to the source, Kanye’s threats made Pete live in fear: “Pete was terrified, constantly worried about his safety. He struggled to sleep and felt unsafe whenever he left home. In the end, he had to take a break for his mental health since the stress got to be too much.
Pete went on with actors Chase Sui Wonders and Madelyn Cline after their split. In contrast, Kim spent 2023–2024 dating NFL player Odell Beckham Jr. Professionally, Kim continues to play a significant role in the most recent season of her family’s reality show, The Kardashians, while Pete has been a regular on Saturday Night Live.
