The Jurassic World franchise is set to roar back onto the big screen with Jurassic World: Rebirth, slated for release on July 2, 2025.
The highly anticipated first trailer, unveiled during the Super Bowl, is now available on Universal Pictures’ social media handles. The footage teases a thrilling new chapter featuring not just the franchise’s iconic dinosaurs but also terrifying aquatic creatures, raising the stakes for survival.
Set five years after the events of Jurassic World: Dominion (2022), the film explores a world where Earth has become increasingly inhospitable for dinosaurs. The surviving species are now confined to carefully controlled habitats mimicking their prehistoric ecosystems. Amid this new reality, a team of scientists embarks on a dangerous mission—to collect genetic samples from three colossal creatures: one from the sea, one from the land, and one from the sky. These creatures hold key genetic material that could lead to a groundbreaking life-saving drug for humans.
Leading the cast are Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali. Johansson stars as Zora Bennett, a covert operations expert on a high-stakes mission. Bailey plays Dr. Henry Loomis, a paleontologist integral to the team’s efforts, while Ali takes on the role of Duncan Kincaid, Zora’s trusted team leader, according to Deadline.
The ensemble also includes Rupert Friend as Martin Krebs, a Big Pharma representative, and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Reuben, the father of a civilian family stranded at sea after a terrifying encounter with rogue aquatic dinosaurs. Rounding out the cast are Luna Blaise, David Iacono, Audrina Miranda, Philippine Velge, Bechir Sylvain, and Ed Skrein, all in key roles.
Directed by Gareth Edwards, Jurassic World: Rebirth is based on a script by David Koepp, the writer behind the original Jurassic Park, with characters created by Michael Crichton. The film, produced by Amblin Entertainment, promises to deliver the thrills, action, and suspense that fans expect from the Jurassic World saga.
As the story unfolds, Zora and Duncan find themselves forced into an unexpected alliance with a shipwrecked family, whose vessel was destroyed by rampaging aquatic dinosaurs. Stranded on a dangerous island, the group stumbles upon a decades-old secret—one that could rewrite everything they thought they knew about dinosaurs and their existence!
