Lionsgate has officially set the release date for ‘Mutiny’, an upcoming action thriller starring and produced by Jason Statham, as reported by Deadline.
The studio announced on Thursday that the film will hit theaters in January next year.
Directed by Jean-Francois Richet, ‘Mutiny’ follows Cole Reed (played by Statham), who witnesses his billionaire boss’s murder. Instead of seeking justice, he finds himself framed for the crime and forced to go on the run. To clear his name, Reed must unravel the truth behind a global conspiracy.
The film’s cast also includes Annabelle Wallis and Roland Moller, with a screenplay written by Lindsay Michel and J.P. Davis. Statham is producing the film alongside Marc Butan.
According to Deadline, ‘Mutiny’ is set to release in a relatively competition-free window, debuting a week after Universal’s horror-thriller Soulm8te, a spin-off of M3GAN.
Meanwhile, Lionsgate has a busy slate ahead. Following the release of Mel Gibson’s action thriller Flight Risk, the studio is preparing to launch The Unbreakable Boy on February 21, 2025. Other upcoming projects include Freaky Tales (April 4) and Hurry Up Tomorrow (May 16).
Fans of Jason Statham can look forward to seeing ‘Mutiny’ in theaters on January 9, 2026, promising an action-packed experience.
