Before performing on Church Street, Sheeran tried conducting a busking event when Bengaluru Police stopped the event. DCP Central Bengaluru, Shekar T. Tekkannanavar explained that they refused to give prior permission for the busking event because it would have caused congestion issues. Sheeran later responded on Instagram: “Had permission to busk, by the way. It wasn’t just us showing up out of the blue. All good though. See you at the show tonight.”
