For the long-awaited Ahmedabad show at Narendra Modi Stadium on January 25 and 26, Coldplay, Gujarat police have put in strong safety precautions.
Apart of their “Music of the Spheres World Tour,” the famous British rock band will play two shows at the venue, attracting an expected audience of up to one lakh people over the weekend.
Complex Security Deployment
Neeraj Kumar Badgujar, Joint Commissioner of Police (JCP) at Ahmedabad, said, “More than 3,800 police officers are mobilized along with metal detectors and undercover officers including female personnel. Units are based at the venue as well as on crime branch groups. Over 400 CCTV equipment are in place too to track the event.
He added, “All guests will undergo rigorous security checks and special barricades will be installed to keep people from entering without screening.”

The venue will be watched by more than 400 cameras
National Security Guard members are deployed at strategic locations.
Special Forces consist of Quick Response Teams (QRT), Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) members.
Crime and Special Operations Branch: Teams stationed at key areas, including Metro stations.
Emergency Plans: Along with the Gujarat State Disaster Management Authority, medical teams are on call and disaster and evacuation plans have been arranged.

Including trips to the CCTV control room and the police control room, Ahmedabad Police Commissioner surveyed the security arrangements.
