Home Minister Amit Shah expressed his sorrow over the tragic school bus accident in Haryana by offering his condolences to the families of the deceased children in a tweet on X “The accident of a school bus in Mahendragarh, Haryana is very sad. My condolences are with the bereaved families of the deceased children. May God give them the strength to bear this grief! The local administration is providing assistance to the injured children. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini also shared his condolences on X, stating, “I am saddened by the school bus accident in Kanina, Mahendragarh. My condolences are with the bereaved families who have lost their innocent children. The local administration is ready to help the injured. I wish all the injured a speedy recovery.”

Haryana’s Education Minister, Seema Trikha, visited the hospital where 12 children are being treated and reported that one student is in critical condition. She pledged to take strict action against the school’s owner, principal, and the bus driver. Trikha also criticized the school for operating despite the government holiday and vowed to implement stricter regulations for private schools to prevent such incidents in the future.

The accident, which occurred in Mahendragarh, resulted in the death of six children and left several others injured. Superintendent of Police, Mahendragarh, Arsh Verma, confirmed that the bus driver has been detained.

The incident occurred early on Thursday in Mahendergarh, Haryana, close to Unhani village. Even though Eid-ul-Fitr was a holiday, the school was open. The students were from GL Public School. The private bus was carrying close to forty students.
