Historically Speaking with Dr Aishwarya Pandit Sharma: In this new episode, the guest S Prasannarajan, Editor of Open Magazine delves into the profound influence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Indian politics. He highlights Modi’s unique ability to shape public opinion, emphasizing how the narrative surrounding Modi transcends traditional party lines, making him the central figure in the current political landscape.
“In India, too, it is a vote on Narendra Modi, nothing else. He’s the conversation. He makes the conversation, and he influences the Indian mind. And he’s one politician, I think, who has an easy access to the Indian mind and the people who are set against them, they are always responding to them. They are busy defining Modi. They never define themselves because there’s nothing else in this election except Modi. Because now, Kejriwal or Rahul Ghandi, we don’t know what they stand for. They are reminding us that they are there because they are non-Modis. That is not how it works. So if you have a story to tell, tell that story. Because there is only one storyteller in Indian political arena at the moment, which I think it is Modi.”
