The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has issued a new circular aimed at streamlining case management across district courts. The directives, which build upon earlier guidelines from December 2023 and September 2024, focus on reducing case backlogs and improving court efficiency.
As part of these new measures, District Case Management Committees (DCMCs) have been tasked with identifying targeted cases, holding meetings with the Bar, and formulating strategies to reduce arrears. Additionally, presiding officers are required to conduct physical verifications of case files and reconcile their data with the National Judicial Data Grid to ensure accuracy and transparency.
The High Court’s initiative is expected to enhance judicial functioning and expedite the resolution of pending cases across the region.
