American actress Dakota Johnson has chosen not to watch her latest film, ‘Madame Web,’ and her reasoning might surprise some. According to CNN, Johnson, who played the titular character in the new superhero movie, revealed on MagicFM that she doesn’t know when she’ll watch the film, stating she probably won’t see it or vaguely suggesting she might someday. However, Johnson clarified that her decision is not specific to ‘Madame Web,’ explaining, “For me, it’s a way to not have, like, an existential crisis.” She added, “Not watching my movies is like self-care.”
Johnson is not the only actor to adopt this approach. Meryl Streep, Adam Driver, Emma Stone, Nicole Kidman, and others have also expressed a reluctance to watch their own performances. ‘Madame Web,’ in which Johnson portrays a clairvoyant paramedic, is loosely connected to Sony Pictures’ film slate, which includes the ‘Venom’ films and 2022’s ‘Morbius’ starring Jared Leto.
The film has received negative reviews, with a Rotten Tomatoes score of 13 percent. When asked if she Googles herself, Johnson replied, “No! God no,” emphasizing her desire to avoid such activities.
