Dylan Thomas, a 24-year-old heir to a $292 million fortune, is facing charges for allegedly murdering his only friend, William Bush, in a violent knife attack on Christmas Eve. Thomas, who is said to have led a solitary life, is accused of killing Bush, his longtime friend and roommate, after learning Bush planned to move in with his girlfriend, Ella Jeffries.
According to The Sun, Thomas had lived with Bush in Cardiff, UK, for years after the two met in primary school. Prosecutors allege that before the murder, Thomas searched online for the “anatomy of the neck” and convinced Bush to meet him in his bedroom. Moments later, he allegedly launched a brutal attack, stabbing Bush multiple times.
Witnesses described hearing “screams of horror” as Bush fled the initial assault, managing to escape down two flights of stairs while bleeding heavily. Thomas reportedly pursued him to the patio, where he continued the frenzied attack, ultimately inflicting a fatal neck wound.
The prosecution highlighted Thomas’s reclusive nature, contrasting it with Bush’s popularity and noting that tensions grew between the friends after Jeffries began dating Bush. Jeffries told police that Bush had mentioned Thomas once said, “I have thought and/or wondered about killing you.”
Thomas, who is currently receiving treatment for schizophrenia, awaits further proceedings in court.
