On Sunday night, Mumbai saw heavy rainfall. As a result, it led to waterlogging in several parts of the city.
Earlier, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted moderate to heavy rain in Mumbai and its surrounding areas in the following 48 hours.
As per Nowcast’s prediction on Monday, moderate rain will occur in isolated areas of Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Raigad, Aurangabad, Ahmednagar, Beed, Osmanabad, Latur’s districts following the next 3-4 hours.
Meanwhile, IMD through its bulletin warned fishermen to not venture across & off North and South Maharashtra from June 9 till June 13.
‘Squally weather with wind speed 45 kmph to 55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph likely to prevail along and off North Maharashtra coast on 9th to 13th June. Fishermen are advised not to venture along and off North Maharashtra coast during the above-mentioned period’ warned IMD.
Both cities of Maharashtra such as Mumbai and Pune, witnessed the temperature of 26 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius.
On Sunday, Mumbai experienced rainfall, signaling the beginning of the expected weather patterns. Previously, IMD announced, that the southwest monsoon had progressed to regions of the central Arabian Sea, southern Maharashtra, Telangana, southern Chhattisgarh, southern Odisha, and additional coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh.

Further, IMD also announced favorable conditions for the Southwest Monsoon to extend into the central Arabian Sea, certain regions of Maharashtra (including Mumbai), and Telangana within the upcoming 2-3 days.
“Conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into remaining parts of central Arabian Sea, some more parts of Maharashtra (including Mumbai) and Telangana during next 2-3 days’ said IMD.
