The India Meteorological Department has recently revealed, that light rain will most likely occur in the national capital Delhi on Friday, June 7, along with dust storms or thunderstorms and strong surface winds at 25 to 35 kmph speed.
Taking to its latest weather bulletin, IMD said, ‘Partly cloudy sky. Dust storm/thunderstorm with very light rain. Strong surface winds (speed 25-35 kmph) occasionally in gusty during the day,” the regional meteorological centre, New Delhi.’
While the expected maximum temperature will likely be 43 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature is forecasted to be 29 degrees Celsius.
Other than Delhi, the light rain along with thunderstorm, duststorm and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) is also predicted for Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan during 06th-07th June 2024.
Further, on June 8, the similar cloudy weather is expected. While on June 9, clear skies will be accompanied by strong winds.
However, Delhi from June 10 to June 12, will witness partly cloudy sky with strong surface winds.
As per IMD, the city is experiencing ‘weather change’ ‘due to the influence of a new western disturbance’.
Yesterday on Thursday night, various parts of Delhi-NCR experienced a powerful dust storm, which dropped the maximum temperature from 44 degrees Celsius the day before to 41.2 degrees Celsius, which is slightly above normal. Thus, giving residents break from heatwave.
As per IMD bulletin, the minimum temperature stabilized at 24.6 degrees Celsius, which is three degrees below the usual range, while the relative humidity varied between 39 percent and 57 percent.
