How to Practice Oil-Pulling

  • Take a spoonful of coconut, sesame, or sunflower oil.
  • Put the oil in your mouth and swish it around gently for 10–20 minutes.
  • Don’t swallow the oil, since it contains bacteria and toxins inside.
  • Spit the oil into a dustbin or tissue (not the sink, since oil clogs the drain).
  • Rinse your mouth with warm water and brush your teeth afterwards.

  • Oil-pulling is an adjunct wellness measure and not intended to replace brushing or flossing.
  • You may need to practice for a few weeks consistently to notice visible results.
