The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare ordered immediate replacement of the Medical Superintendent of AIIMS Trauma Centre. On 6 July, a Covid-19 positive journalist patient, Tarun Sisodiya, had jumped from the fourth floor and died. The four-member inquiry committee, constituted to examine Sisodiya’s suicide, had submitted its report.

The journalist worked for a Hindi daily and lived with his wife and two children in northeast Delhi’s Bhajanpura, reports said. Following the incident, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan asked the AIIMS director to set a panel to probe the matter.
