As per the official statement released on Sunday, keeping in mind India’s presidency of the G20 summit, Union Health Minister Mankush Mandaviya  is gearing up to preside over a two-day Global Conference on Digital Health on 20-21 March in New Delhi in the presence of the World Health Organisation (WHO).

Apart from the Health Minister, several top officials, such as Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Additional Secretary Lav Agarwal, WHO Regional Director South East Asia Dr Poonam Khetrapal Singh, and many more are expected to remain present in the conference, as per the statement.

The purpose behind organising a Global Conference is to change the focus from planning to achieve fruitful results in the health sector in many nations with the help of digital health planning. This initiative will accelerate progress towards Universal Health Coverage.

The conference is set to bring together several important segments in the health sector, such as global leaders and health development partners, health policymakers, digital health innovators, academia, and other stakeholders on one platform.

The coming conference will deal with issues related to stepping up the implementation of connected digital health planning. A ministerial session is also on the agenda for the conference to discuss the digital transformation and its challenges, opportunities, and critical success factors. Besides this, panel discussions will also take place.
