The coronavirus is once again spreading its wings across the country. Seeing the upward trend of Covid-19 cases, Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya is set to chair a review meeting with the health ministers of all states and Union Territories on Friday, as per sources.

Covid empowerment working group on Wednesday also hold a review meeting to know the real situation of the deadly virus. Dr V K Paul, Dr Rajiv Bahl, DG, ICMR and other senior health officials attended this review meeting.

As per the sources, the review meeting will be held to know the Covid situation and its preparedness in the country and how to cope with the situation.

Mandaviya said that alertness is essential to keep viruses at bay. Besides this, there is no need to panic. “Currently, the sub-variant of Omicron that is spreading in the country hasn’t increased hospitalisation.”

India clocks 5,335 new cases in the last 24 hours with a daily positivity rate (3.32 percent and a weekly positivity rate (2.89 percent). It is almost 20 percent higher than recorded the previous day, as per the Union Health Ministry data.
