In a significant directive, the Health and Medical Education department has instructed all Government Medical Colleges (GMCs) and tertiary care hospitals to establish dedicated control rooms for inter-departmental consultation of indoor patients.

According to a circular issued by the Health and Medical Education Department, hospital authorities are mandated to ensure the establishment of control rooms that are highly visible and easily accessible to both patients and attendants.

The initiative aims to enhance the efficiency and quality of healthcare services, particularly in tertiary care institutions, by facilitating swift consultations between different departments within the hospital premises.

The circular underscores the necessity for all Government Medical Colleges and other tertiary care institutions across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir to establish these control rooms promptly.

Furthermore, it emphasizes strict compliance with the directives by all doctors, consultants, and faculty members, emphasizing the importance of adherence to the guidelines for effective patient care.

This proactive measure is expected to streamline inter-departmental communication and consultation processes, ultimately leading to enhanced healthcare delivery and improved patient outcomes across healthcare facilities in the region.
