In the petitions, applications, complaints, civil suits, and other cases filed in the courts of Rajasthan, there will now be no mention of the caste or religion of the parties involved. After the order of the Supreme Court, Registrar General of the High Court Chandra Prakash Shrimalli has issued standing orders on this matter.
The standing order states that, in compliance with the Supreme Court’s order, from the High Court to the subordinate courts in the state, there will be no mention of the caste and religion of the parties in petitions, complaints, applications, civil suits, and other representations.
In fact, on January 10, while hearing the case of Shama Sharma vs. Kishan Kumar, the Supreme Court had said that there should be no mention of the caste and religion of the parties in the petitions filed in the courts. This order was given by Justice Hima Kohli.
The Supreme Court had stated in its order that this practice should now be stopped. There is no reason to mention the caste or religion of the parties in the courts. The Supreme Court had directed to send this order to the Registrar General of all the High Courts in the country.
